Corporate Partners Todd Crider and Jaime Mercado were quoted in a LexLatin article analyzing capital markets trends over the past year in Latin America. According to the article, Simpson Thacher ranked second by deal value and third by deal volume amongst legal advisors for capital markets work in the region for 2020 based on data from their business intelligence tool, Ágora. Despite the pandemic, Todd noted that capital markets activity in the region in 2021 will likely continue to be busy, resembling the second half of 2020. Jaime added that sovereign issuance activity will likely remain strong, given the significant liquidity in international markets and favorable rates.
